The Pamir Highway
Ten days along one of Central Asia’s best-known mountain roads. From Dushanbe, the route follows the Panj River deep into the Pamirs, travelling through Kalai Khum and Khorog to the Wakhan region and the high-altitude lakes of Yashilkul and Bulunkul before returning to the capital through the Western Pamirs.
About This Tour
The Pamir Highway crosses one of Tajikistan’s most remote and mountainous regions. Over ten days, the route connects Dushanbe with Khorog, Pamiri villages, high-altitude valleys and the lakes of Yashilkul and Bulunkul.
Much of the journey follows mountain roads along the Panj River and the Afghan border. City hotels gradually give way to small hotels and family-run guesthouses as the route reaches elevations of 3,500–4,200 metres.
